The Old
Version Aja has been a student, explorer and teacher in the areas of body, mind and consciousness for over thirty years. After intensive study, he was ordained as a Vedic Priest in India in 1975, spending several years as a celibate monk both in India and the United States. He received a Doctorate of Naturopathy Degree from the International University in 1984, the title of Sanskrit Adhyapaka (teacher of Sanskrit) from the American Sanskrit Institute in 1990, and in 2003 was given the title Acharya (spiritual teacher) by Sri Acharya Rajendra of Sriji Temple in Vrndavana India. Over the years he has extensively researched both Eastern and Western teachings on spirituality, religion and transcendence, personally explored the realms of consciousness and awakening and authored several books on health, spirituality and consciousness. In 1990, through self inquiry, he experienced a permanent shift in his perception of reality, recognizing that Self of Absolute Consciousness from which all arises, and which permeates all things. This ever deepening experience of Self allows Aja to help guide others to this same awareness, and to recognize the truth of who they are. Currently Aja teaches Self Inquiry as well as the Sanskrit language, in classes throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.
The New Version I am exactly what you are and you are exactly what I am...no more and no less, because there is only one thing happening and it is Life, the Absolute, God, Existence...whatever you want to call it. Perhaps the biggest difference is there has always been, in this awareness, a deep and abiding love and quest for Truth, to know what is Real. Because of this I spent years and years studying philosophy and religion. I spent years as a celibate monk. I became a Hindu Priest in India, and ultimately I gave all these things up. Eventually I came to inquire into what is Self...What is this thing called "I?" It was through this that the recognition occurred that there is only one thing happening and it is definitely not 'me' in the traditional sense; that there really is no 'me,' just the flowing of 'What Is.' Now, some definitions call this Enlightenment, or Awakening, or Self Realization, or Nirvana, or many other names. But any name suggests that "I" am there and "You" are not, or that there is a "Done" aspect of Aja, which creates a limitation and a belief. All of these names and labels and concepts stand in the way, as obstacles to Truth. Yes, they give a sense of direction to move toward, but they also create something new that is not real. We are all a part of this great Awakening Field of Consciousness; this flowing of Is-ness. Perhaps I have flowed farther toward or into the Great Ocean. I no longer hold onto particular beliefs. There are thoughts of what is or may be, but there is no longer a need to know anything more than what presents itself. Who and what we all are is the same infinite Being, Peace, Presence, (and all of their opposites and beyond). I don't read minds, and I don't walk on water. There is ordinary human-ness here, but having understood and directly recognized many aspects of the journey/non-journey as It all unfolds into the Absolute, perhaps I can be something of a window to That for you. |
